We had the pleasure of working on the latest release from Meshuggah – Immutable – The Indelible Edition – a remastered and expanded re-release of their latest album with additional live tracks. This is a rare example of an album where there are two versions available with different masterings done so close in time, both the original release from three years ago and the new “Indelible Edition” that we mastered. We think that it is a nice showcase of our approach to transients, punch, aggressiveness, darkness etc. 🤘
Last week we released a little plugin – the SM Switcher. 🎉 The goal was to create a tool to make it easier to learn mastering and it’s available among the resources over at our educational site Mastering Explained. The manual is written mainly for use in Reaper and the plugin is currently Mac only.
There is also a new video out on our YouTube channel about using EQ in mastering, where you can see the switcher plugin in action.
During the summer we will have some time off and slow down the mastering schedule. Make sure to contact us well in advance if you would like us to help you with the mastering of your record, we reply to all emails. Lately there have been a few emails that got stuck in the spam filters, so feel free to write to us again if you haven’t received a reply within a few days.
