Time for an update!

2011 was a great year here at Stockholm Mastering. We found the perfect location to move the studio to. We needed some daylight and also more space and got both of those. :) Our new studio has been very appreciated so far!

The first album that was mastered in our new space was one with Eric Bibb and it was recorded and mixed by Jan-Eric Persson at Opus 3. After that we kept on going with lots of cool productions from Andreas Landegren, BangBang, Ben Hogun, Doberman, El Caco, Filip Jers, Fröken Underbar, ikiz, Jacob Huddén, Kalle Gracias, Kiralina, LED, Lisa Werlinder, Lisen Elwin, Malmø, Maria Misgeld, Michael Johnson, Momus, Neighbourhood, Parti & Minut, Pernilla Österberg, Soundstream Jazz Sextet, Stranger Things, The Unkool Hillbillies, The Virtues, Ulf Lagestam and others. Check out our discography for more info!

We also held a mastering course at Lulea University for the third year students in the sound engineering program. This was our third year of giving the course and it seems to be appreciated by the students.

On a personal note, we can also add that we got a son, Vilmer, in July 2011. He is now sixth months old and is a sweetheart. :)

We hope that 2012 will be as good as 2011 and we are looking forward to the music we will get to hear and master.

Best!

/Sofia, Thomas & Vilmer

Swedish Grammy Awards 2010

We at Stockholm Mastering attended the Swedish Grammy Awards on friday. We had a fun night with nice food, wine and entertainment. We were keeping our fingers crossed a little bit extra for Lars Winnerbäck who was nominated in four categories; best artist, best male artist, best lyricist and also best album of the year. We would like to congratulate Lars on winning two grammies for best artist and best male artist of the year! On top of that he was acknowledged for being one of the artists who received the most grammies during 2000 to 2009. We look forward to the coming year and hope we will have some interesting nominees to be proud of next year as well.

Winter greetings from Stockholm!

New mastering course

In the beginning of September a new mastering course begins at the College of Music in Piteå. The course will be given by the Department of Music and Media at LTU and we have been asked to be the lecturers. We will teach the students the basics in mastering and the course content is a mix of both theory and practical exercises.

We look forward to this, as well as visiting the beautiful city of Piteå several times this autumn!

The studio is up and running!

The construction of the studio was finished in early July and we are very happy with the result!

We have worked with some very interesting albums during the summer and are looking forward to a great autumn.

We will keep the website updated with what we're doing. Feel free to contact us about anything! Smile
